Angel Station was not only one of the Earth Band's major successes, but also stands out thanks to it's modern production under the direction of Anthony Moore, who opted for a very stripped-down sound.
The album cover was heavily influenced by the artist M. C. Escher. You Are - I Am was later sampled by Kanye West for his track So Appalled on the album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Manfred Mann returned the compliment by recording a cover version of Kanye West's reinterpretation on his current album.
